We've carried out two surveys of flights from Delhi to Chennai (Madras), and we have four winners - Indigo, Jetlite, Spicejet and Deccan (although Deccan has been the only outright winner, and also has the record cheapest flight at 2999 rupees).
The diagram below illustrates the shortest flight path from Delhi to Chennai; without taking restricted areas, air traffic and wind into account. To fly the shortest path the plane needs to leave Delhi's airport (28°33'59"N 77°06'11"E) at an initial heading of 168° south, and then travel for 1753km before reaching Chennai's airport (12°59'40"N 80°10'50"E).
