Firefly Airline's First Flight

Monday the 2nd April 2007, and Firefly Airlines takes to the skies for its first official flights.

FireFly Airline's first two flights departed in the morning from Subang Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah airport, and its 2 Fokker Friendship (F50) aircraft landed successfully at Penang International Airport.

The managing director of Firefly Airlines, Mr. Eddy Leong Chin Tung, said in his speech at the launch ceremony in Penang, “Firefly will operate as Malaysia’s first community airline, offering safe, affordable and comfortable flying experience thus making flying with us a fun and smart choice for our guests.”

Firefly Airline's first commercial flights will be flown from 3 April 2007 between Penang and Langkawi, Kota Bahru, Kuantan, Kuala Trengganu, Phuket and Koh Samui.
